Never shop on an empty stomach!

Before or after shopping 'til you drop at Jewel of the West, stop in at one of the fine restaurants within walking distance from our store. Here are some of our favorite places in the area:

Alpine Inn
Built in 1886, this historical landmark, with its reputation for fine dining, became the showplace of Hill City. Family owned and operated for over two decades, this popular restaurant has been noted in national and international publications for its friendly, homey atmosphere steeped in mellow Old World Charm (and its delicious meals). The luncheon menu boast both ethnic European as well as contemporary dishes. The famous streamlined evening menu featuring Filet Mignon and the homemade desserts are as aesthetically pleasing to the eye as the palate!

Desperados Cowboy Restaurant
Don't forget your cowboy hat (and perhaps a new pair of cowboy boots from our store) when you head to one of our local favorites, Desperados! You'll dine in a cowboy style dining room at this family-owned restaurant, which is open seasonally and listed on the National Register of Historic Buildings. You'll walk away with a full stomach from their delicious home-cooked meals.

Slate Creek Grille
What more can we say about Slate Creek Grille than "delish!" With a sports bar full of local wildlife displays and a dining room surrounded by local art pieces, the food is top-notch and the service is excellent. So whether you're hoping to catch the big football game while everyone else shops, or you want to sit down for a family dinner... make sure to stop by Slate Creek.

Turtle Town
Right across the street from us! Turtle Town offers the finest homemade fudge, made the old fashioned way in copper kettles, hand made confections, and fine chocolates available. Enjoy a double dip of delicious hand dipped ice cream. You can nab a great cup of coffee too, and the service is excellent.
